A miracle Child, his mother & the big yellow bike
This bike was such a huge surprise. It was a dream come true! My Friend Missy had discovered this bike on Instagram several years prior. We had been talking about if Kyle would like it or not. Had planned a trip to Philadelphia to try one out but the trips got cancelled more than once because of weather, etc. so we gave it up. We entered the giveaways they run several times a year. One week I wrote the company with some questions and made the decision that I was going to start saving for it but hadn’t told anyone. The next week Missy invited Kyle & I to go along Cherry picking as we had done the year before. She told me to meet at the shop. I had the surprise of my life!! Missy had reached out to friends & family about the bike, and they had collected more than enough!! Be sure to watch the video of the big surprise!
Kyle meets the legacy trail
Kyle meets the legacy trail
I fell in love with this trail immediately! It was a dream come true….Nicely paved, no traffic, lights at each road crossing, parks with restrooms & swings along the way …what more could we wish for. Kyle took a little time to adjust to our biking in Florida. There was a least one time I had to call his dad to pick him up because he was so upset & done! In the end though we both loved it. We had one of our best rides just 3 days before Kyle passed. I had many dreams for us on this bike yet, especially after such a good ride!
our Last Ride
October 30, 2022- I’ll never forget the day. We were in Florida for a wedding. Mom & Ann were there doing fall cleaning at mom’s house next door. We decided to go in the evening for a ride on the Legacy Trail. Kyle had a fabulous ride. It was so much fun with him so content. I biked & sang to Kyle the whole time. Songs from my childhood, songs of Heaven, songs of peace. My heart was so full. Ivan tells people I was flying on a cloud. Definitely one of my favorite rides thus far. I was excited that Kyle was getting more content. In my head i was planning lots of trips in the year ahead with Kyle & this bike! I was ready!!
When we were getting ready to leave Florida Ivan suggested leaving our bike behind for our trip in March. Less hassle with loading & travel. I looked at the weather for the next week at home & said absolutely not, we had some great fall weather coming up & I wanted to take Kyle out at home through the fall as long as possible. Sadly, Kyle passed Wednesday morning & those beautiful fall days were instead spent with family remembering Kyle, grieving our loss & planning a Celebration of His Life. My heart still hurts as I write this!! I had so many plans for Kyle & I and that bike! Those dreams, adventures, plans are some of the hardest for me to give up since Kyle has gone on home! I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s riding a big yellow bike in heaven these days!! I treasure these pictures!
