TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAMES……
Although Kyle never had a chance to pick his own team, or even his favorite sports, we like to think he loved Philadelphia & the Phillies as much as the rest of us. The truth is Kyle loved when family was together, and he really did pretty well at these games. We also haven’t gone in recent years because Kyle didn’t like to hold still anymore so someone would have had to walk the entire time.
We watched the Phillies in the basement a lot when the kids were younger, had some great Phillies parties but we also went to quite a few games….home games in Philadelphia, Spring training games in Florida, Fourth of July weekend in Pittsburgh. Baltimore, Washington, and Virgil’s Grad trip to games in Pittsburgh & Cincinnati. There are so many great memories & stories I hope to share in the next few months! Check back often!
April 2010- Opening Day against the Nationals in Washington DC
Disclaimer on the hats- Our restaurant was in Annapolis & the company that owned our market building owned the Nationals team and gave us tickets at times. 😊
Cutest Phillies fan ever! Check out how he’s sitting there with the legs propped up!!! 😂 Only Kyle!!!
When Virgil graduated we asked him where he would like to take a family trip. He asked that we take a trip to several ballparks where the Phillies were playing. We drove to Cinncinati for a game and then to Pittsburgh for another game.
By the time the game was over & we went to eat lunch the kiddo was exhausted. Thankfully those were days he would just sleep in his wheelchair through anything!
Kyle loved time with his siblings!!!
Kyle & I walked the bridge (in the background) & back! It was a great workout!
Enroute from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh we stopped at a market in Columbus, Ohio. We found some great food & sat outside to eat where I got these super sweet pictures of the kids! My heart skipped a few beats when I came across these pictures!
Back then I walked a lot and I loved walking the big cities with Kyle in the morning or evening.
Our Phillies Photo Shoot
Ivan & I were big Phillies fans while dating. We went to lots of Phillies home games in Philadelphia and loved to follow their Spring Training games as well. The fun really started though when the kids got into it as they got older. Virgil made sure I knew all the players and their positions. It was a fun thing our family could enjoy together so of course it made sense to do a Phillies Photo shoot for our Christmas cards one year.

Even as my heart aches every day from missing this kiddo dearly, I just have to say thank you Jesus for these beautiful moments in our lives and I am so thankful for these sweet pictures to help me never forget how blessed I am!!! God is good!
